Sexually-transmitted and blood-borne diseases and infections (STDs/STBBIs)

At the LeBlanc + Savaria clinic, we encourage anyone who is sexually active or starting a new relationship to get tested for STDs/STDs*. This service allows you to find out about your state of health, reduce the risk of STD/STBBI transmission, and get treatment as quickly as possible in the event of infection, so you can avoid complications.

Prevention instead of cure…

Some STDs/STIs have no clinical symptoms. Carriers are therefore at risk of unknowingly transmitting these diseases and infections. As a result, the number of new cases continues to rise year after year, affecting an increasingly young population. STDs/STIs can also have serious consequences, such as abscesses and severe infections, and are sometimes associated with infertility or certain cancers.

For a personalized, confidential consultation

Screening tests are quick and painless. Our doctors make sure to answer all your questions with the utmost respect. Your doctor:
assesses your risk of contracting an STD/STBBI,
asks you a few questions to determine which diseases and infections to look for, as well as the related tests and samples,
performs a complete medical examination (including an examination of the genital organs), and
takes a blood sample, a urinalysis for men and a vaginal swab for women, depending on the STD/STBBI you are looking for.
With the LeBlanc + Savaria clinic, it’s also possible to obtain certain results in less than 24 hours!

For more information or to book an appointment, please contact us.

*The usual STD/STTI screening test includes: chlamydia, gonorrhea, hepatitis B, syphilis and HIV. Other complementary tests are also available, notably for genital herpes, HPV and condyloma.
