Trauma and falls

Whether you’re taking part in sporting activities or simply relaxing outdoors, falls and injuries can happen. Make sure you wear the right protective gear, and be aware of your surroundings to avoid accidents.

Sprains, strains and fractures: what’s the difference?

Heat stroke

With high summer temperatures, it’s essential to stay hydrated and seek out cool places during periods of intense heat. Heatstroke can be dangerous, especially for children and the elderly.

Exacerbation of lung disease

Smog is more common during the summer months, which can aggravate the symptoms of lung diseases such as asthma and COPD. Avoid high-pollution areas and be sure to follow your medical treatment plan. Monitor the smog index regularly and take steps to stay cool if necessary.

Tick-borne diseases

If you spend time outdoors, especially in wooded or grassy areas, take steps to protect yourself against tick bites, and check your body regularly for signs of diseases such as Lyme disease.

Minor emergencies

If, despite your precautions, you encounter a minor medical emergency this summer, don’t forget that we’re here to help.

LeBlanc + Savaria clinics offer minor emergency services where you can quickly consult a physician for any medical concern.
