Being a woman today

Did you know that, worldwide, cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women, with almost all cases linked to a sexually transmitted genital infection, the human papilloma virus (HPV)? And that breast cancer is the most deadly cancer among women aged 20 to 59 worldwide? To combat these female cancers, but also to ensure that our patients enjoy a healthy life, the LeBlanc + Savaria clinic offers a variety of gynecological care through an annual check-up specially dedicated to women.

For all women

Our gynecological care includes screening for cervical, breast and endometrial cancer. To prevent cervical cancer, the PAP test helps identify abnormal cells, while the HPV test is performed to detect the human papillomavirus. We can administer the GARDASIL® 9 vaccine, designed to protect against nine types of human papillomavirus, responsible for a number of cancers, including cervical, vulvar and vaginal. A real medical breakthrough, since the previous generation protected against four types of the virus, this vaccine is indicated for girls and women aged 9 to 26. We also prepare prescriptions and follow up mammograms to prevent breast cancer. Endometrial cancer screening is carried out by biopsy. We also inform our patients about STIs, and help them with menopause and contraception, including IUD insertion.

Because every woman is unique

Our medical staff understands that every woman is unique, and will tailor a health check-up for each one, based on her age, history and expectations. We listen carefully to our patients’ needs, whether they relate to sexuality, menstrual cycles, hormonal variations, menopause, diet, lifestyle or general health. Our doctors’ role is to address women’s most intimate concerns with the utmost respect.
